FORWARD Jack Gunston says the Hawks have plenty of room to improve after Monday's loss to Geelong.

Gunston was among the better performers for the Hawks, kicking three goals in his side's 30-point defeat.

He said there were some positives, but the Hawks would be determined to get better ahead of Round 2.
