BOX HILL Hawks coach Marco Bello evaluates every Hawthorn-listed player's performance at VFL level in Round 4.

The Hawks' VFL affiliate posted a 59-point win against Frankston, maintaining their undefeated start to 2016.

DALLAS WILLSMORE

27 disposals, four clearances, four inside 50s, two goals

“Dallas had a terrific day. He played predominantly as an inside mid this week, throwing a different challenge to him having playing mostly as a winger and half-forward, with a little bit at half back. He acquitted himself really well – he finished with 27 disposals, had nine marks and hit the scoreboard a couple of times too. A terrific game from him, and a consistent month of footy.”

BRENDAN WHITECROSS

25 disposals, three clearances

“Whitey finished with 25 disposals, 15 (kicks) and 10 (handballs). He’s one we had to throw more in the middle this weekend with the loss of a few midfielders. Brendan spent a bit more time inside, and again was a leader, instrumental in setting us up and getting his hands on the footy. He’s been really consistent over the first four weeks.”

TEIA MILES

23 disposals, three tackles, one goal

“Teia manages to find a way to kick goals – he’s our equal leading goal-kicker, from the back pocket. He had 23 disposals, was a really efficient ball user off half back and is able to take ground and be a link up player for us. Again, he’s continuing to improve week-in, week-out.”

LACHLAN LANGFORD

21 disposals, 11 marks, six inside 50s, one goal

“On debut, Lachie finished with 21 disposals, 11 marks and finished with 1.1. He was working up the ground and did a really good job for us in the forward line. He finished with one himself but would have handed two or three over as assists as well. It was a terrific debut for Lachie, one to watch there.”

BLAKE HARDWICK

20 disposals, seven tackles, three inside 50s, two goals

“It was probably a stand-out game for Blake at Box Hill level. He had to spend some time inside, but most of his work was done up forward. He played a big part in us being able to cause turnovers in our forward half. He finished with 2.1 himself and would have handed off another couple, so a terrific game for Blake.”

BILLY HARTUNG

20 disposals, five inside 50s

“Billy provided good run for us off the wing, and a little bit off half back. He finished with 20 disposals, five inside 50s and three rebound 50s, showing his versatility at both end of the ground.”

KADE STEWART

19 disposals, eight marks, eight tackles, two goals

“Kade finished with two goals, it’s been a consistent effort from him over the first four weeks. He’s leading our goal-kicking along with Teia, Chris Jones and Kieran lovell (six goals each). He again showed that he can win his own football, but can run and carry when he does. A real highlight was one of his contested marks above a pack.”

JACK FITZPATRICK

16 disposals, 28 hit-outs, six marks, five inside 50s

“Jack played predominantly in the ruck for us this week, with Marc Pittonet out. He had 28 hit-outs and won a lot of the ball – he had six marks, but he would have got his hands to another half a dozen, making it a contest and bringing it to ground for our smalls. He competed really well in the ruck and went forward to kick a goal.”

ANGUS LITHERLAND

16 disposals, three tackles, two rebound 50s

“Gus is another defender who kicked a goal for us on the weekend, he finished with 16 disposals, rarely got beaten as a defender and provided good run from our back end. His run and carry ability – he can run 15 and kick it 60 – helps us take a lot of ground and we’re able to get good access from our defensive end.”

KURT HEATHERLEY

11 disposals, five tackles

“It was a quieter day for Kurt, but again he didn’t get beaten. The ball was only inside our defensive end 25 times, so they didn’t see much of the footy down there, but our defenders were able to pretty much able to control the ball from halfway back.”

MATT SPANGHER

10 disposals, two marks

“Spang finished with 10 disposals, seven of those handballs, and a couple of marks. Anytime the ball was in his area, he was spoiling or tackling, and thwarted many of Frankston’s forward thrusts, so he was good for us.”

LUKE SURMAN

Nine hit-outs, one disposal

“It was great that Luke was able to get a chance to play senior VFL footy. He had some time in the ruck and had nine hit-outs. He didn’t impact too much around the ground, but I think the experience he’ll get out of that will hold him in good stead and we should see a lot more of him in the future.”
