AHEAD of Jordan Lewis' 250th AFL game for Hawthorn, we've tried to pick out his 10 best performances.

It was far from easy... Did we get it right?

(in chrononological order)

1. Round 9, 2006 v Sydney Swans

The Hawks didn’t win the game, in fact they lost to the reigning premiers by 65 points, but Lewis was a standout. Playing in just his 27th career match, a 20-year-old Lewis racked up a game-high 30 disposals – including 16 contested possessions – plus 10 clearances and seven inside 50s. He also picked up his first Brownlow vote.

2. Round 2, 2007 v Melbourne

Lewis’ first Brownlow three-vote game came against the Demons. Lewis had an equal team-high 26 disposals, plus six clearances and five inside 50s, as the Hawks staved off a big challenge from Melbourne at the MCG.

3. Preliminary final, 2008 v St Kilda

The Hawks were clinical as they won through to the 2008 Grand Final – and Lewis played a big part. Lewis had 12 contested possessions - the second most of any player on the ground – as the Hawks ran out nine-goal winners against the Saints on the big stage.

4. Preliminary final, 2011 v Collingwood

Another big finals performance – and it’s the match that still stands out for Hawks’ coach Alastair Clarkson. The Hawks lost a thriller by three points – but Lewis couldn’t have done much more to help try to bring the Hawks a win. He had 28 disposals, eight tackles, seven clearances and kicked a goal – but couldn’t quite get the Hawks over the line against the Magpies.

5. Round 17, 2012 v Collingwood

Not renowned for kicking bags of goals, Lewis slotted five against the Magpies in 2012. Playing a role on Heath Shaw, Lewis was able to have a big impact on the contest with 20 disposals and five important goals in a 47-point win.

6. Grand Final, 2013 v Fremantle

The first of the Hawks’ three consecutive flags. Lewis was the Hawks’ equal leading possession winner on the MCG that day, as the Hawks edged out the Dockers by 15 points. Lewis had 14 contested possessions and eight clearances, playing a crucial role in bringing home the Premiership Cup.

7. Round 10, 2014 v Port Adelaide

The match Luke Hodge thinks of when he thinks of Lewis at his best. With no Roughead, Gibson, Lake or Mitchell, Lewis did everything he could to try to lead the Hawks to victory against the Power at Adelaide Oval. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough – the hosts won by 14 points – but Lewis had an incredible impact on the game with 38 disposals, nine clearances, six inside 50s and two goals.

8. Round 21, 2014 v Fremantle

Despite Hawthorn not getting the win over Fremantle, Lewis produced a club-record equaling 44 disposals for the game. He recorded two Brownlow votes in that game against the Dockers, which the hosts won by 19 points.

9. Grand Final, 2014 v Sydney Swans

A huge effort in a big Hawthorn victory. Lewis had a game-high 37 disposals, as the Hawks thumped the Swans by 63 points on the last Saturday of September. With five inside 50s, seven rebound 50s and seven clearances, Lewis was influential right across the ground.

10. Round 4, 2015 v Port Adelaide

Not for the first time, it wasn’t a game the Hawks won. The Hawks almost overturned a 51-point half-time deficit against the Power at Adelaide Oval, with Lewis a huge contributor. He had a game-high 36 disposals – plus seven clearances and six inside 50s – as the Hawks fell agonisingly short of an incredible comeback win.
