HAWTHORN skipper Luke Hodge remains in contention for Sunday’s match against Gold Coast SUNS at Aurora Stadium.

GM – Football Operations Chris Fagan says Hodge is a 50-50 chance to play.

But it’s not the knee injury which preventing Hodge from being a certain starter.

Fagan says Hodge has recovered from the knee injury, but has a finger issue which could stop him from returning before the bye.

“We just have to see how his hand is at training," Fagan said.

“He’s done some really good work over the last three to four weeks. It’s one of those ones where (we need to decid) ‘do we play him this week or do we give him another week off and then we have the bye and then he gets a few more weeks of training’.

“I’d say it’s sort of 50-50 at this point in time.

“His knee is fine and has been for a while. It’s more just making an assessment on the finger.”
