The Hawks are set to come up against former teammate Jordan Lewis in Round 7 for the first time since his off-season departure last year.
During his press conference on Wednesday, the new Demon admitted that it will be “a little bit strange” to come up against his old club.
“It’s a bit of an unusual feeling,” says Lewis.
“I haven’t had too much time to sit back and think about what I will feel come game day.
“I’ve still been communicating with the boys every week since I departed from Hawthorn, so it will be weird going out there and playing against them but at the end of the day you’ve got to put that in the background and concentrate on what you can control.”

Lewis spent 12 years in the brown and gold after being drafted to the club in the 2004 – a lucrative draft that also brought the Hawks (now Swan) Lance Franklin and Skipper Jarryd Roughead.
Though Lewis admits it will be odd being on different sides to close friend Roughead, he says he’s thrilled that the new captain is playing football again.
“The last time I played against Rough was in 2004 in Moe when he was Gippsland Power and I was Geelong Falcons, so it will be a little bit strange.
“But for him just to be out there and participating in the game he loves again, for me that brings great joy.”
Known for his aggressive nature on the field, Lewis asserts that his sole focus will be on finding the ball this week.
“I think [sledging] has gone out of the game a little bit, nothing can really throw a player off their game no matter what they say.
“My object will be the ball and that will be it.”
