James Cousins (29 disposals, 7 marks, 3 tackles)

“Cuzzy ended up with 29 disposals. He had 16 contested possessions, six clearances, five inside 50s, four rebound 50s, so it was a pretty productive game in terms of being all over the ground and giving us good representation at stoppage but also getting back and helping the defenders. He continues to learn his craft and he finished with three tackles as well so he was a real workhorse all day.” CN

Ricky Henderson (26 disposals, 8 marks)

“He works really hard. His GPS results are always through the roof because he works really hard up and down the wing, where he played predominantly all game. He ended up kicking a goal again which was good. Not only does he provide us with offensive spread, he also gets back and helps the defence.” CN

Jonathan O’Rourke (19 disposals, 2 marks, 2 tackles)

“O’Rourke finished the game midway through the third quarter after re-injuring his hamstring. He finished with 19 disposals. We’re not too sure on the results of his scan at the moment but hopefully it’s not too bad. Before that he was quite lively for us, obviously finishing with 19 disposals with a quarter and a half to play shows that he was playing some pretty good footy for us.” CN

Ty Vickery (18 disposals, 6 marks, 3 goals)

“Ty finished with 18 disposals for us, which was good. It also indicates that he’s getting around the ground a bit. We used him in the ruck a little bit more with ‘Pitto’ (Marc Pittonet) out, so he took his opportunity there. He was quite good when he went forward and he finished with three goals on the day. He worked really hard defensively as well, put a lot of pressure on around the ground and looked quite lively.” CN

Brendan Whitecross (17 disposals, 4 marks, 5 tackles)

“He finished with 17 disposals, so not a massive amount, but he was quite dangerous when he had the ball. He’s been really strong in the contest for us, providing five tackles again on the weekend. All of his tackles were really strong tackles. Obviously playing against Geelong, with the way they play, it’s really important that you stick your tackles and I thought he was one of our better tacklers on the day. So, he had a pretty productive day, although he didn’t hit the scoreboard, he was instrumental in setting a lot of our drives up.” CN

Jack Fitzpatrick (15 disposals, 34 hit-outs, 5 marks, 3 tackles, 2 goals)

“Along with Ty, Fitzy competed in the ruck well all day, where we were quite dominant all day, we finished +20 in hit-outs, which was good. We also ended up winning the clearance numbers so that’s largely on the back of Fitzy providing a real contest for us in the ruck. He finished with a couple of goals again too so that showed his versatility to be in and around the stoppage and then get forward and provide a real target for us, which was terrific. So, another good game for Jack.” CN

Kade Stewart (14 disposals, 2 marks, 7 tackles)

“Kade ended up with 14 disposals, so not a high amount of disposals, but one of those guys that were really strong with their tackles. He set the scene early with his physicality around the ball. He was really helpful in stopping their momentum when they looked dangerous and he continues to put his head over the ball, finishing with seven contested possessions, which was great.” CN

Taylor Duryea (13 disposals, 8 marks, 3 tackles)

“Duryea, along with all our backs, competed really well on his man, both in the air and on the ground. ‘Doc’ played a really physical game for us. Again, not a huge number of disposals, I’m sure he would like to get a bit more of the ball in his hands but that was probably due more to the way the game played out. Our disposals in general were quite low on the day, we were able to be quite efficient rather than accumulate possession. He had 11 kicks and kicked it at 91% efficiency, so when he got the ball he used it well and also defended when he had to.” CN

Conor Glass (13 disposals, 4 marks, 6 tackles)

“Glass finished with six tackles, and he’s really been working on his defensive side to his game so it’s good to see that coming to the fore. He’s now sticking those tackles but he’s also competing really well in the air. He’s still learning his craft but when he gets the ball he can really hurt opposition with his disposal, as he’s getting to be quite a good kick. So, he looked quite dangerous when he had the footy and he’ll look to build on his game.” CN

Harry Morrison (13 disposals, 7 marks, 3 tackles)

“Morrison has had a really strong month of footy for a youngster. He finished with 13 disposals, after having high-20 possessions for the last few weeks, but again, we just didn’t possess the ball as much this week and the ball was played in our front half much more, which was good but meant some of our defenders didn’t get a heap of the ball. He defended really well and he looks dangerous when he had the footy. He finished with seven marks, so he can take them not only on the spread, but in the air as well so he was solid.” CN

Kurt Heatherley (12 disposals, 6 marks, 3 tackles)

“Second game back into it for Heatherley, he competed really well. He finished with 12 disposals and took six marks on the day, including a couple from the opposition’s boot so he’s not only spoiling but he can back himself in the air as well. He was really solid back there for us when he had to compete. He was probably our tallest, along with Nash, so they probably had to compete out of his weight division so he competed pretty well.” CN

Conor Nash (10 disposals, 3 marks, 2 tackles)

“Probably similar to Heatherley, he competed well in the air when he had to. He’s getting better and better each week. He thrives on the contest, and obviously coming from a rugby background he enjoys that part of it. He’s also using the ball quite well, he had five kicks at 100% and his overall disposal efficiency was 90%. This obviously wasn’t off a huge volume of numbers but he disposed of it well when he had it.” CN

Ryan Schoenmakers (9 disposals, 5 marks, 3 tackles, 1 goal)

“He was probably a little bit stiff in the end, I think he had a couple of other shots, so he could have quite easily had three goals. He looked quite dangerous when he was working the angles and he presented for us really well as a strong target around the ground. We love what we get from ‘Schoey’ and we know what we’re going to get from him, he’ll either win the ball or bring it to ground so not a bad return for him.” CN

Oliver Hanrahan (7 disposals, 2 tackles, 1 goal)

“In for his first game, he’s a really good decision maker and he looked quite lively on the day. He’s quite good in traffic too. He’ll learn a lot from his first game, finishing with seven disposals and kicking 1.1, so he got his couple of shots which is what we want from a small forward. He did a couple of strong things as well, with a couple of strong tackles and he put his head over the footy as well for us, so he’ll get better and better for us I think.” CN

Mitchell Lewis (6 disposals, 1 mark, 1 hit-out)

“Another young kid, who is learning his craft as a tall forward. He’s working in tandem with Schoenmakers and Vickery up forward. He’s a really honest kid, who had a consistent output on the day. He didn’t kick a goal, he missed an opportunity, but it’s good that he’s getting those opportunities. But I love his physical nature, and his physicality was pretty good on the day.” CN
