GEELONG midfielder Scott Selwood is set to return against Hawthorn on Saturday after recovering from a hamstring strain.

Selwood missed the past two matches against Greater Western Sydney and the Brisbane Lions.

After feeling tightness against West Coast in round 13, Selwood played the following week against Fremantle but battled throughout the game before his time out.

"I feel pretty good. I just missed out last week on playing and I feel really confident in it," Selwood told the geelongcats.com.au.

"I’ll tick off some training and make sure I’m ready to go."

The Cats confirmed the tough nut would be available for selection as long as he got through training on Thursday.

Selwood is a key component of the Cats midfield but has only played 10 games since crossing from West Coast to Geelong at the start of 2016 due to injury.

He has played in eight wins in those 10 games and in 2017 he has averaged just under 12 tackles a game.

Speedster Nakia Cockatoo also faces a test after injuring his hamstring early in the game against West Coast.
