In his fourth year at Hawthorn, Dallas Willsmore finally earned himself an AFL debut in 2017.

Having pressed his claims with solid form in the VFL with Box Hill, the 22-year old played his first senior game against Sydney in Round 10.

He played the following week against Port Adelaide before spending the remainder of the season in the state league.

Willsmore averaged 21 disposals, eight marks and three tackles for Box Hill this season.

Having predominantly played as a wingman throughout his career, Willsmore was trialled as a forward towards the end of the year.

A word from: Adem Yze

“Dallas had a couple of games this year and got a taste of AFL footy, which is great. He didn’t look out of place when he got a game in the seniors.

“He’s working on some things at Box Hill level. They’ve been trying him in the forward line as we obviously know he can play on a wing.

“But he has been a really consistent player at VFL level and it was really good to see him get a couple of games under his belt. Hopefully he can really build on that in the coming years.”
