Stewart played four senior games with Hawthorn this year.

Playing predominantly as a small forward, the 20-year old continued to grow a reputation for being one of the most ferocious tacklers at the club, averaging four per game at AFL level.

The West Australian also played 15 matches for Box Hill in 2017, where he averaged 19 disposals, five marks and six tackles.

He kicked 19.19 for the Hawthorn affiliate throughout those 15 appearances, showing an ability to impact the game both offensively and defensively on a consistent basis.

A word from: Adem Yze

“Stewy’s form at Box Hill level has been really strong.

“He got some opportunities at AFL level. But it was just a few games in the seniors, where he seemed like he was second guessing himself. He plays with a free spirit at Box Hill and we just need him to bring that at AFL level. He’s working on that, but it was really good for him to get some more games under his belt this year.

“We’d like to see him not just consider himself a small forward, but also challenge himself to get some senior midfield time as well.”
