Hawthorn has added three new names to its list, with James Worpel, Dylan Moore and Jackson Ross each taken by the Hawks in Friday night’s NAB AFL Draft.

Head of Recruiting and List Management Graham Wright believes each of the new Hawks will bring something different to the table.

"We're really happy with how the draft played out," said Wright.

"Each of those guys were high on our list, and we're looking forward to watching them develop into elite footballers."

See what Wright had to say about Hawthorn’s new draftees.

James Worpel – Pick 45

Hard, tough, competitive

“James is an inside mid who is captain of the Geelong Falcons.

“He was selected in the Under 18 All Australian side this season, which is a testament to the year he had.

“He’s about 185cm, with a hard, tough body, and he’s really competitive.

“James is a great stoppage player and a good leader, so we think he’s going to add a lot to our playing group.” - GW

Dylan Moore – Pick 67

Elite endurance

“Dylan’s a half forward/on ball winger, so he’s very versatile.

He’s not particularly heavy or big, he’s about 176cm, but he’s a really good athlete with elite endurance and he knows how to find the footy.

“He had a really good national champions this year, and he plays for the Eastern Ranges so he’s a local boy. He’s also a Hawthorn supporter.

“We think that in time when he puts a bit of weight on, he should be able to put some good footy together.” – GW

Jackson Ross – Pick 71

Versatile and athletic

“Another Eastern Ranges boy, so he’s not far from us.

“He’s about 192-193cm and plays on the wing and across half forward.

“He’s a really versatile, athletic type who kicks the ball with both feet, so we think he’s got a lot of up sides.

“We’re hopeful that he’ll come in and work really hard and, similarly to Dylan, potentially play some footy over the next few years. - GW
