When considering game tallies alone, Hawthorn boasts one of the most experienced lists in the league in 2018.

Despite having lost 1630 games worth of experience from just six players over the last three seasons, the Hawks remain among the competition’s leaders in players who have surpassed the 100-game mark.

The departures of Josh Gibson (225 games), Luke Hodge (305), Jordan Lewis (283), Sam Mitchell (329), David Hale (237) and Brian Lake (251) since the end of the 2015 season have done little to influence this statistic.

The strength of this number is heightened by the fact that only three of the Hawks’ 16 players to have reached 100 games have also had their 30th birthdays.

Only Port Adelaide, with 17, have more players with triple-digit career games tallies.

The Power, alongside Geelong and Sydney, lead the league with five players each who have played 200-plus games.

But Hawthorn leads the way with players who have made between 100 and 200 senior appearances with 13 such players, a segment of the Hawks list that is littered with experienced campaigners still with many years left in them.

Interestingly, St Kilda do not have anyone on their list who has exceeded the 200-game mark while Brisbane, Essendon and the Western Bulldogs only have one each.

Carlton have the fewest 100-plus game players with just six and three of those being 30 years of age or older.
