A unique partnership announcement

Rioli on track fresh season Cyril Rioli told the media he is raring to go for the 2018 season at the adidas announcement at Glenferrie

Hawthorn and adidas have announced a five-year extension of their partnership with the production of a large-scale mural in Hawthorn heartland.

Hawthorn and adidas have been in partnership since 2013, with the new deal set to take their partnership into its tenth year.

adidas sponsored players Cyril Rioli, Jaeger O’Meara and Ryan Burton feature in the artwork, which is located on the corner of Hawthorn’s iconic Glenferrie Road and Linda Crescent.

Artist, Askew One (Elliot O’Donnell), who specialises in outdoor and graffiti art, spent five days creating the mural, with the featured players particularly impressed with the end result.

“It’s not every day you get to see yourself on the side of a building and I think it’s a pretty exciting way to announce the partnership extension,” Jaeger O’Meara said.

“Askew One has done an amazing job and it’s great the club has been able to collaborate with adidas on a project like this.

“adidas are a really innovative brand and we are really excited to continue working with them over the next five years,” he said.

Steve Castledine, General Manager, adidas Pacific said he was thrilled to be continuing the relationship with the Hawthorn Football Club for a further five years.

“Together we have achieved great success during our partnership and share a desire to see it grow long in to the future,” Castledine said.

“Creativity is at the heart of everything we do and partnering with a club like the Hawks signifies a commitment from both parties to continue to develop, innovate and create both on-field and off-field.

“We are pleased to be able to have Hawthorn as part of our global family and look forward to ongoing success together,” he said.

Hawthorn CEO Justin Reeves was also in full support of the partnership continuing and said he was looking forward to seeing what the two organisations could achieve in the future.

“It’s incredibly exciting to extend our partnership with such an amazing global brand like adidas,” Reeves said.

“There are so many great synergies between both our companies, particularly the commitment to the ongoing pursuit of innovation and success.

“This will take our partnership with adidas to almost a decade and we are really excited about what we can achieve together over the next five years,” he said.
