“Underneath all of Priscilla’s glitter is a message of tolerance, acceptance and mateship, which is why we’ve joined with the Hawks to put mental health in the spotlight at the beyondblue Cup,” Cassel said.

“Hopefully our performance will not only put a smile on people’s faces, but give them the confidence to speak up about mental well-being.”

Hawthorn has also announced its Mental Health Program ambassadors for 2018, Taylor Duryea and Tom Mitchell.

Both players are passionate about raising awareness for mental health and utilising their roles as AFL players to encourage people to talk openly about this important issue.

“Anxiety and depression are just like physical injuries – they can affect anyone and most importantly, they’re treatable with the right kind of support,” Duryea said.

“The beyondblue Cup is a really significant match for the club as we aim to help reduce the stigma associated with mental health conditions.

“Having Priscilla and the Michael Cassel Group on board for this match really adds to the entertainment aspect and we hope all our fans can get along to support a really important cause and enjoy a fun night with family and friends.”

beyondblue and Hawthorn Football Club have been working together since 2006 with the aim to create an Australian community that understands anxiety and depression, and empowers every person, at any life stage, to seek help.

Hawthorn’s vision is that every Australian will be aware of the information and support options to tackle anxiety and depression, so they can help themselves and others on the road to recovery.

Hawthorn is encouraging fans to be in their seats by 7.15pm to ensure they don’t miss a minute of the entertainment, before the blockbuster match against the Swans.
