Triple-premiership forward Jack Gunston has further entrenched himself amongst the Hawks’ goal-kicking greats, becoming just the 12th player to kick 300 goals for the club.

Celebrating his 150th game in the brown and gold, Gunston joined the exclusive club with the first of two goals against Brisbane in Launceston, snapping the ball across his body to bring the Hawks within a point of the Lions in the second term.

The 26-year-old joins teammates Jarryd Roughead and Luke Breust in reaching the milestone, along with a host of club legends including Jason Dunstall, Leigh Matthews and Peter Hudson.

Having arrived at Hawthorn from the Adelaide Crows at the end of 2011, Gunston’s career tally currently sits at 321 goals from 164 AFL appearances, while he’s also kicked a career-best six majors on two occasions for the Hawks.

Gunston looms as one of the Hawks’ most important players for the remainder of 2018 as the side looks to secure a place in this season’s finals series.
