Scans on Friday have revealed Hawthorn defender Ben Stratton has suffered a low-grade hamstring strain.

“Unfortunately today the scans confirmed Ben has suffered a low-grade hamstring strain,” Director of High Performance Andrew Russell said.

“Ben won’t take part in our match next week and will be a test beyond that, depending on how our finals campaign progresses.”

The key defender left the ground in the third quarter of Hawthorn’s loss to Richmond on Thursday night at the MCG. The reliable backman has played all 22 games in the Hawks 2018 home and away series.
