10 of Hawthorn’s 37-man senior list in 2018 have previously been at a rival AFL club.

It is an insight into the tradition that the club has built in bringing in experienced players from opposition clubs in order to improve the brown and gold squad without slipping down the ladder.

These 10 players found their way onto the Hawks’ list through either trade, free agency, delisted free agency or by being redrafted.

As two of our 2018 All Australians Tom Mitchell and Jack Gunston celebrate their “rebirthdays” - their anniversaries of being traded to the Hawks - we thought we’d take a look at the dates other Hawthorn recruits, past and present have arrived at Waverley.
