The 25-year-old’s 848 touches this year installed a new league record for most possessions in a single season, surpassing Adelaide Matt Crouch’s 2017 figures despite the Crow playing an extra game.

Mitchell reached the 40-disposal threshold on 11 occasions this year, registering another new record in his career-best season, having overtaken Gary Ablett’s previous mark of seven in 2012 by Round 17 this year.
