Ben McEvoy followed up a career-best year in 2017 with an equally strong season in 2018.

McEvoy averaged over 30 hit-outs for just the second time in his 11-year career, while his 1.4 contested marks per game was the best rate of any Hawk.

His 4.8 one-percenters per game were a career-high.

The ruckman finished in equal-eighth position alongside Liam Shiels in the Peter Crimmins Medal count despite missing five games between Rounds 17 and 21 with a fractured cheekbone which required surgery.

The 29-year-old’s best game of the season came in the Easter Monday clash against Geelong when he dominated the ruck battle with 43 hit-outs to go with 16 disposals, three contested marks, four clearances and a goal.
