Jack Gunston’s career-best season in 2018 was rewarded with his first All Australian honour.

Melbourne’s Jesse Hogan was the only other player in the competition to match Gunston’s feat of averaging at least 17 disposals and two goals per game this year.

The 27-year-old’s 3.1 inside 50s per game were also a career-high, exemplifying the many ways Gunston was able to impact the game forward of centre this year.

Gunston finished fourth in the Peter Crimmins Medal count this year, four and six votes short of the third-placed Isaac Smith and second-placed Blake Hardwick respectively.

Impressively, this season was the fourth of the past five that Gunston has recorded 50-plus goals- a record he will be looking to extend into 2019.
