Jack Gunston managed to have a career-best year at 33 years of age in 2025. After not being picked in Hawthorn’s side for the first two rounds, he made his way back in through the sub position in Round 2 and from there, he never looked back. Gunston ended up finishing second in the league’s Coleman Medal after kicking a career-high 73 goals, including two career-high hauls of seven, a bag of six and a five-goal performance in Hawthorn’s Semi Final win over Adelaide. This led to him earning both his second All-Australian blazer and second Peter Crimmins Medal, as well as being voted in by his peers as the 2025 winner of the club’s Lethal Award.
