Dylan Moore is ready to take the next step.

Following an impressive debut season in the brown and gold, Moore is progressing through another strong summer campaign in which his elite endurance attributes have been on show.

There has been a shift in the 19-year-old’s mindset, from wanting to fit in and understand the AFL lifestyle to now desperately pursuing a taste of senior action.

“In my first year I just wanted to build relationships, develop as a player, learn the system and try and get into a good routine,” Moore said.

“This year I am trying to build on that.”

Moore, who finished fourth in the Hawks’ latest 2.2km time trial, split his time between the midfield and forward lines in 2018.

But it was around goals where the Eastern Ranges product thrived.

The hard-running utility kicked four goals against Williamstown to help facilitate Box Hill’s VFL Grand Final berth, before booting another three against Casey to earn himself a premiership medallion.

“I’m working with Luke Breust a bit at the moment to try and get my game to the next level and hopefully push for senior selection.”

“I’ve been training a bit more with the forwards and trying to align with Luke so that I can push into the forward line and play that half-forward role.

“The first goal (for 2019) is just trying to get a senior selection and then hopefully, if I can get one game, it will turn into two, three, four.”
