Midfielder Bridget Deed has been struck down by an ankle injury ahead of the final game of the home and away season.

The 20-year-old, who was the club's inaugural AFLW signing a year ago, is currently in a moon boot.

Hawthorn AFLW High Performance Manager Olivia Knowles said Deed will be be monitored across the week.

"She sustained some ligament damage in a training session late last week," Knowles said.

"It's low-to-moderate grade, so we'll be able to manage that conservatively, which is a great result."

Meantime, utility Casey Dumont is still carrying an ankle complaint after she was managed last week.

"We're continuing to manage that at the moment, it's a bit of a day by day process and we will see how she goes across the rest of this week," Knowles said.

And in some good news, defender Catherine Brown is due to make her return to the club this week following successful surgery to repair her ruptured ACL.

"She spent the last week at home recovering from that," Knowles said.

"That went really smoothly, which was great, and she will be back in the club this week getting started on her rehab."
