Hawthorn has made two changes for its Round 18 clash with Fremantle this Saturday night, recalling Calsher Dear and Finn Maginness for the trip west to Optus Stadium.

Dear returns for his second game of the season, while Maginness reclaims his spot in the senior side following his last appearance in Round 13.

Both have impressed at VFL level in recent weeks, with Dear averaging 2.6 goals and 7.3 marks in his past three outings, while Maginness has averaged 28 touches and 5.6 tackles in his last three games.

Making way for the pair is Max Ramsden (omitted) and Seamus Mitchell (injured).

Executive General Manager of Football Rob McCartney said the additions had earned their opportunity.

“Both Calsher and Finn have worked hard on their game at VFL level and have performed at an AFL standard over the last couple of weeks, and thoroughly deserve their opportunity to return to the senior line-up,” he said.

“Both have proven that they can play well at this level and are looking forward to the opportunity against an in-form Fremantle on Saturday night.”
