Wales was having a career-best year through nine games in 2025, until an appendix injury disrupted the back-end of her season, causing her to miss Round 10 and 11, with a return-to-play timeline yet to be established.
The 22-year-old averaged 20 hitouts, 18.3 disposals, 10.1 kicks and four clearances. Her best individual performance by the stats came against Geelong, she finished with an equal game-high 27 disposals (a season and career-high), as well as a game-high 16 hitouts.
