Emerging midfielder Laura Stone has re-signed with Hawthorn until at least the end of 2027.
Stone played every game last season, averaging 12.6 disposals and 6.3 tackles, and slotted four majors for the year.
Her best game for the season came in the Qualifying Final against eventual premiers, North Melbourne, where she had a season and career-high 19 disposals, 12 kicks and three marks.
After joining the Club at the end of 2023 as part of the AFLW Pre-signing Period, Stone made an immediate impression, playing in Week 1 of the 2024 season
She managed seven games in her debut season, with a standout performance coming in Week 5 against Geelong, where she booted three goals. An ankle injury in Week 6 saw her miss the remainder of that campaign.
Hawthorn AFLW General Manager Keegan Brooksby said Stone’s commitment to the club bodes well for the future.
“Laura has shown great promise in her first two years at Hawthorn and we’re happy to have her recommit until the end of 2027” Brooksby said.
“She had a strong finish to the 2025 season, her performances in finals and finishing inside the top 10 of our best and fairest, which give us confidence she can continue to grow and take her game to the next level in brown and gold.
“Laura is a core member of our playing group and what we’re building as a club, we look forward to seeing what she can help us achieve in the next two seasons and beyond.”
