Hawthorn has added Poppy Stockwell to its AFLW list ahead of the 2026 season as a replacement player.
The 22-year-old former Fremantle Dockers-listed AFLW player joins the Hawks from the Perth Demons in the WAFLW, where she has been one of the competitions most in form forwards, kicking seven goals in her most recent outing.
The dynamic forward also represented Western Australian in the State Game against South Australia last month, finishing with three goals from 16 disposals in her sides’ 92-point win.
In 2024 she had a stand-out WAFLW season with South Fremantle, named as the Club’s Best and Fairest and Leading Goalkicker in the same season.
Hawthorn General Manager of AFLW Keegan Brooksby welcomed Stockwell to the brown the gold.
“Poppy has shown improvement in her game and is someone we believe can make an impact in our environment,” Brooksby said.
“She possesses some really dangerous traits as a medium-sized forward and is a proven goalkicker.
“At just 22, we’re confident Poppy‘s best football is in front of her and look forward to seeing that potential realised in the brown and gold.”
Stockwell’s signing comes after Aileen Gilroy was moved to the inactive list following her retirement earlier this year.
