Mid-season draftee Max Beattie has signed a one-year contract extension with the Hawks, tying him to the brown and gold until at least the end of 2027. 

Since arriving at the club with the 12th selection in this year’s mid-season draft, the Wodonga product has made an impressive start to life at the elite level.

After overcoming an ankle injury suffered in his first VFL game, the 22-year-old made his AFL debut in Round 23 and marked the occasion with his first-ever AFL goal. 

Beattie backed that up in Round 24 with another two majors from his 15 disposals against West Coast at Optus Stadium, further highlighting his exciting potential as a Hawk. 

Prior to joining Hawthorn, Beattie was among the most dominant players in the SANFL, highlighted by his 30-disposal and 5-goal game while playing for Woodville-West Torrens earlier this year.
