Hawthorn Football Club has been involved in a partnership program with the region of Katherine in the NT since 2009. Players and support staff have visited the area 13 times over the years.

Shaun Burgoyne is currently in Katherine with Strength and Conditioning Coach Luke Boyd conducting clinics, leadership sessions and visiting local communities.

Day three of the Club's most recent visit to Katherine saw Shaun Burgoyne and Luke Boyd up early for morning assembly at Katherine High School.

The two Hawks representatives spent the school day with students across various year levels, running training sessions and sitting in on a nutrition class to help stress the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Shaun and Luke shared plenty of footy tips and tricks with students who play for local footy club the Big River Hawks.

After school, the group headed out to Binjari, a small Indigenous community just outside Katherine.

Here, in Binjari, two representative teams from Katherine High - the Hawks and the Bombers, played in a fiery clash with the Hawks coming out on top by a narrow margin.

Shaun ran water for the teams and provided some handy pointers to the Hawks boys along the way.
