Peter Knights is one of the all-time greats. He had everything: an electrifying leap, brilliant marking, courage and flair. Injury robbed him of a premiership in 1971 and the Brownlow Medal in 1976. Predominantly a star centre halfback, Knights could also give life to the forward line when sent there, heading the Club goal kicking in 1972.
Appointed coach for two years in 1994, in reflection a very difficult task with the Club headed for its most turbulent times – the merge issues of 1996.
