Hawthorn Coach Alastair Clarkson says he hopes the side's form over the last three weeks have given Hawthorn fans, as well as the playing group, the belief that 2022 could be an exciting year for the club.

The Hawks posted their third consecutive victory over the Western Bulldogs at UTAS Stadium on Saturday, following wins over Collingwood and Brisbane in the weeks prior.

Clarkson said, with the quality of players currently sidelined with injury, there should be a growing optimism about what Hawthorn can produce next year.

"I think, in terms of our supporters, and what they're seeing on the field at the moment, there's some hope that we can bounce ourselves back up the ladder," Clarkson said.

"And perhaps that's going to happen more quickly than what we had expected halfway through this year.

"We were two-wins-and-nine-losses halfway through this year, which was a really disappointing start, but we've been able to turn that around in the back half of the year.

"I think Mitch has an opportunity with this group of players to take them forward."
