Continuing the club’s promising run of form to finish off season 2021 will be firmly on the agenda as the Hawthorn players edge towards their pre-season return date in a fortnight’s time.

A Hawks side filled with youthful exuberance propelled the club to an undefeated final month of the year and it appears the excitement of what the future holds extends beyond the four walls of Waverley Park.

The club has been thrilled with the response of its loyal membership base as the Hawks set their sights on a new era in 2022 and beyond under new Senior Coach Sam Mitchell.

Over 77,000 members signed on with the brown and gold in 2021, a rise from the previous season. And early indications suggest the club is on track to surpass 2021’s number again, with 45,000 members already committing for 2022.

Hawthorn GM – Consumer Business Jeremy Millard said it has been a pleasing start to the club’s 2022 membership campaign.

“It’s obviously a very exciting time for both our members and the broader community as we look forward to crowds being back in sports stadiums across the country,” Millard said.

“This anticipation is a key reason why we’re seeing some really strong numbers in the early stages of this campaign.

“We’ve had many chats with members, in particular those with seasonal reserved seats, who are thrilled by the idea of getting back in their seats and cheering on the brown and gold.

“With the latest news around Boxing Day at the MCG, where a crowd of 80,000 is expected, there is real eagerness for what’s to come in 2022.”
