Hawthorn VFLW is set to showcase an array of new faces at its 2022 season opener on the weekend.

10 players are expected to make their debut for the brown and gold this Sunday when the Hawks take on the Kangaroos at Arden Street Oval at 9.30am.

Among those playing on Sunday with AFLW experience include newly-appointed captain Tamara Luke and former Melbourne star Tegan Cunningham.

New Head Coach Cherie O'Neill is also set to embark on her first game for Hawthorn.

O'Neill is leading an all-female coaching line-up, which includes Assistant Coaches Lou Wotton, Christina Polatajko and Hayley Gregory.
