Hawthorn’s AFLW list is now 50 per cent complete following the commitments of Tamara Luke, Jenna Richardson and Tahlia Fellows.

Luke has already had an illustrious VFLW career at the Hawks as a 2018 premiership player, 2021 best and fairest winner and two-time captain.

The forward/ruck has been leading the way as skipper this season, ranking first in the team for total goals (13), marks (56) and hit-outs (179) from her 10 appearances.

The 34-year-old has also had experience in the AFLW system with St Kilda, suiting up on six occasions across the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

Richardson has been one of Hawthorn’s most consistent VFLW defenders this season.

In just her second season in the brown and gold, the 20-year-old is averaging 12.5 disposals, 4.1 marks and 2.4 tackles from 10 games.

Fellows will swap the navy blue and red to brown and gold after featuring in 11 games for the Casey Demons this VFLW season.

After injury interrupted her first season with Casey, the 22-year-old is blossoming in 2022, ranking 10th among the league’s leading goalkickers with 12 majors.

The classy forward also featured for the Under 23 All Stars and racked up 16 touches to go with three marks, five tackles and a goal.

Hawthorn General Manager - Operations & AFLW Josh Vanderloo was delighted about the progression of the Hawks AFLW list.

“It’s a fantastic achievement to have 15 players committed to the brown and gold in such a short period of time,” Vanderloo said.

“This result speaks volumes of Hawthorn’s culture and community, who have been nothing but supportive towards our newest players.

“With Season 7 of the AFLW rapidly approaching, we believe we are in a good spot to ramp up preparations under the leadership of coach Bec Goddard.

“Of course, we are not done with the exciting news and we can’t wait to share more player and staff commitments with our Hawthorn family in the coming days and weeks.”

Hawthorn’s growing AFLW list now includes Luke, Richardson and Fellows to go with the already committed Bridget Deed, Zoe Barbakos, Sophie Locke, Dominique Carbone, Eliza Shannon, Tegan Cunningham, Tilly Lucas-Rodd, Jess Duffin, Janet Baird, Akec Makur Chuot, Sarah Perkins and Louise Stephenson.
