Jaeger O’Meara has earned his first MVP of the year after receiving the nod from fans following a narrow loss to Fremantle on Saturday.

O’Meara was influential throughout the game, consistently sending the ball inside the Hawks forward line at Optus Stadium. 

The 28-year-old was the best of the midfielders early and he helped Hawthorn record the biggest score to halftime against Fremantle this season, including with an important goal late in the first quarter which gave the Hawks their first lead of the day.

Aside from his team-high and season-high 30 disposals, he also recorded game-high tallies for clearances (9), inside 50s (6) and goal assists (2).

In addition, O’Meara finished the day with a season-high seven marks, alongside six score involvements and an impressive 476 metres gained.
