Hawthorn AFLW Captain Tilly Lucas-Rodd has notched up another milestone in the brown and gold, polling the most coaches’ votes of any Hawk this season with 31.
The 26-year-old polled votes in six of her 10 games this season with her highest tally coming in her 50th game, which was Hawthorn’s Round 7 win over Port Adelaide. The star midfielder polled nine votes in that game for her 19 disposals, nine tackles, three clearances and memorable goal.
The second-highest vote-getter was Jasmine Fleming, tallying 17 votes in her first season of AFLW. The 17-year-old polled a season-high six votes in back-to-back games following her 25 disposals in Round 4 and 16 disposals and 10 tackles in Hawthorn’s inaugural AFLW win in Round 5. Fleming was the highest-ranked player on the ground that day and also earned a NAB AFLW Rising Star nomination. In total, she polled votes in six of her nine appearances this season.
Coming in third place in the Hawthorn votes was Aileen Gilroy with 16. The Irish sensation polled in six of her 10 games this season with her season-best coming in Round 6, tallying seven votes for her 15 disposals and 10 tackles in Hawthorn’s three-point win over West Coast.
With the AFLW Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year announced, the Round 9 and Round 10 coaches’ votes have also been unveiled.
In Round 9, Fleming and fellow young gun Lucy Wales tallied votes after standing tall in Hawthorn’s loss to Brisbane. Lucas-Rodd topped the Hawks tally in their Round 10 defeat against Fremantle with six votes while Jess Duffin polled two votes in her final AFLW game. Charlotte Baskaran also received her first coaches’ vote of the season while Gilroy rounded out the votes once again.
