Five Hawks have been recognised by the coaches for their performances in Saturday afternoon’s 25-point win over Brisbane at the MCG. 

Young forward Connor Macdonald led the way with nine votes following a breakout outing in brown and gold. 

The 20-year-old tallied a career-high 28 disposals to go with two majors, 12 score involvements and 444 metres gained.

Jai Newcombe was next best with seven votes after a monster performance.

The star midfielder totalled 28 disposals, 11 score involvements, five marks, five clearances four tackles and 477 metres gained. 

It was the third term where the 21-year-old did his best work, recording 12 disposals and taking four marks to play a vital part in setting up Hawthorn’s win.

In his return from suspension, Hawthorn Captain James Sicily polled five votes. 

The 28-year-old didn’t take long to find his feet after the week off, gathering a game-high 32 disposals and 478 metres gained to complement his 12 marks, 10 intercept possessions and eight score involvements.

Fresh off signing a contract extension with the Hawks, Jarman Impey polled three coaches votes for his performance against the Lions. 

The ever-consistent 27-year-old recorded 28 disposals, 12 marks, five tackles and four score involvements. 

Hawthorn co-vice-captain Dylan Moore completed the tally with one vote from the coaches.

The 23-year-old was everywhere at the MCG, tallying two majors, 25 disposals, 10 score involvements, five marks and four tackles. 

The Hawks have the week off in Round 14 before travelling up north to face the Gold Coast Suns on Sunday 25 June at 4.40pm.
