Hear from Senior Coach Sam Mitchell ahead of Hawthorn's blockbuster match-up against Collingwood on Sunday.

We've compiled some of the key topics Mitchell spoke on with the media on Friday below.

On playing Collingwood in Gather Round:

"It's exciting Gather Round, I think every game has been sold out over there. To be the last game of the weekend (is great), and playing against Collingwood is always a big game. I think everyone scouts them reasonably well and knows how they go about it. They've hit some good form after last week's performance in Brisbane. I think we have some things up our sleeves that hopefully can cause them some trouble, but we know we have to play our best against Collingwood to give ourselves a chance."

On Jack Ginnivan facing his old side:

"It's obviously a big week for Jack - I think everyone pencilled in the 'Ginnivan vs Collingwood' game in the pre-season, and now it's here. Hopefully it gets watered out in amongst all of the other Gather Round stories. He's been in fantastic form for us, he has been playing really well. He knows I'm always about just 'controlling the controllables', and he can't have a lot of control over the conversations that are happening on the outside. He just needs to make sure that he keeps playing his role, doing his job for the team. We can't fault him in that area in the early part of the year. He's a good young player and we're looking forward to what he can do. Every time he goes near the footy there is going to be a different sound in the stadium compared to most players, but we're all looking forward to seeing him go well. I think even most Collingwood fans are hoping he has a good career."

On the forward line injuries:

"We're going to obviously make three forced changes into that front half (with Mitch Lewis, Nick Watson and Luke Breust out due to injury). We've got some guys who have played some pretty good footy for us at Box Hill, so there will be a couple of changes. Jack Gunston is not in the squad, he won't come over to Adelaide, but I'm really pleased with how he is going. I think he is doing a fantastic job with coaching the forwards which is a big part of his role."
