Young gun Bridie Hipwell has recommitted to Hawthorn on a multi-year deal, which will see her remain in the brown and gold until at least 2027.

The talented forward has notched up 16 games in the brown and gold after she was drafted to Hawthorn with Pick 10 in the 2022 national draft.

After managing six games in her debut year, Hipwell showed strong progression to play every game last season, where she averaged 6.3 disposals and 2.9 tackles per outing, and booted six goals to finish on the podium among the club's top goalkickers.

The athletic 19-year-old enters the 2024 pre-season in strong form, having booted six goals from six games for Box Hill in the VFLW over the past few months.

Hipwell joins fellow 2022 draftees in Jas Fleming and Laura Elliott in choosing to recommit to the Hawks until the end of 2027.

Hawthorn AFLW List Manager Keegan Brooksby said Hipwell’s re-signing is another strong showing of faith in the club.

“We’re thrilled that Bridie has recommitted to Hawthorn," Brooksby said.

“This extension demonstrates her strong desire to continue her development as a young player in our program, whilst also showing her belief in the direction the club is headed.

"Bridie possesses some incredibly exciting attributes as an emerging forward, and at 19, this deal shows our confidence that she has bright future ahead at our club.

“Bridie now joins a growing list of names that have recommitted to the club long-term, further highlighting we have a playing group that has bought into what we’re building.”
