Hawthorn has made three changes for its highly anticipated Centenary Match on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.

After strong VFL performances, Finn Maginness and Changkuoth Jiath have been recalled to Sam Mitchell's side, while Luke Breust comes in for his 304th Hawks game, moving into sixth spot for all-time games played for the club.

Following concussions sustained in last round's 50-point win over West Coast, defensive duo Karl Amon and Jack Scrimshaw will be sidelined for the club's Centenary Match.

Midfielder Cam Mackenzie will also miss Sunday's game after fracturing his hand at training on Friday morning.

The club will have a clearer indication of his return to play timeline next week, but expects it to be a short-term injury.

Hawthorn Executive General Manager of Football Rob McCartney welcomed Maginness, Jiath and Breust back into the team.

"Both Finn and Changkuoth went back to the VFL and performed in a manner that saw them quickly recalled to the AFL team when an opportunity presented," McCartney said.

"Luke Breust also returns to the team - a player who's experienced the big stage. We think his experience and leadership will be really good for us on game day."

In other team news, Josh Weddle has been named to play his 50th AFL game.

Remarkably, the young gun hasn't missed a match for the Hawks since debuting in Round 7, 2023.
