Hawthorn's AFLW side will take to the field in an official practice match against Richmond at IKON Park this Sunday.

The game kicks off from 12noon, with supporters encouraged to come along and cheer on the brown and gold. 

Hawthorn's team to face the Tigers will be announced at 5.30pm the day before the match (Saturday 2 August).

Hawthorn (46) defeated Richmond (23) in Week 10, 2024 

Hawthorn secured a home qualifying final and the McClelland Trophy after a a 23-point victory over Richmond at Swinburne Centre.

In a high-intensity clash, the Hawks kicked clear late to win, capped off with a stunning intercept-turner-goal from Kaitlyn Ashmore.

The Tigers had no answer for Greta Bodey, who ran hard on the wing throughout and took a brave intercept mark in the first term, running back with the flight of the ball. She finished with 23 disposals, 12 of which were collected in the final term.

Aine McDonagh booted a game-high two majors, while Eliza West collected a game-high eight clearances and team-high 24 disposals.

The real stuff officially kicks off for the Hawks on Sunday 17 August in Round 1 against Brisbane at Brighton Homes Arena. 

Hawthorn's first home game follows in Round 2 under Saturday night lights against Carlton on Saturday 23 August.
