Midfielder Harry Morrison has been ruled out for another week as he recovers from a quad injury.

Defender Sam Frost and young midfielder Cody Anderson are set to face fitness tests, while Noah Mraz is inching closer to a return.

High Performance Manager Peter Burge provided an update on the quartet as well as Finn Maginness, Will Day and Josh Weddle ahead of the club's Round 23 match against Melbourne on Saturday afternoon.

Cody Anderson (leg) - Test

"Cody's just been managing shin splints in the last couple of weeks. He's resumed training over the weekend and trained today. He'll train again on Thursday and will play on the weekend at Box Hill."

Sam Frost (ankle) - Test

"It was unfortunate. He just rolled his ankle at training earlier last week and just didn't come up quick enough for the weekend but has resumed training today and we'll see him again this week."

Harry Morrison (quad) - 1-2 weeks

"We had our main training session last Tuesday leading into the Collingwood game. He just had a kick earlier in the session and noticed his quad didn't feel great. He had some scans and it showed he had a very low-grade strain from that incident so naturally, he missed the game, it was two days later. This weekend, we're thinking he probably won't make it in time for this week but we're hoping that he progresses well into next week and that he'll be available next week."

Noah Mraz (knee) - 2 weeks

"He did some training today. He's feeling really, really good, has good strength. He's starting to move at good speed, good kicking, change of direction. He's looking really good, he's going to get a really good preparation into the first VFL final in a couple of weeks so he's going to be eager to get out there and perform."

Finn Maginness (kidney) - Season

"He's been around at the club and around his teammates, walking some laps. He's a week away from starting some light exercise on the bike, but in good spirits and it's good to have him around the group at the moment. He's slowly progressing back into a rehab phase and that will be a lengthy phase and that will go into the off-season, but he should have a fairly uninterrupted pre-season when we get back."

Will Day (foot) - Season

Progressing through his rehab.

Josh Weddle (back) - TBC

"He's progressed really well through rehab and has started some off-line change of direction, kicking the footy and doing some conditioning to return back into some modified training, hopefully towards the end of next week. All of this is determined by how the AFL side progresses over the next couple of weeks. There will also be a follow-up scan in a week's time which will also add another layer of information that we need so that will also show what we need to see to make that progression. There's a little bit to work through still but looking good at this stage."
