Hawthorn defender Ainslie Kemp will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2025 season after rupturing her ACL.

The 28-year-old suffered the injury following an awkward landing at training on Thursday.

Subsequent scans revealed a rupture of the ACL and damage to the meniscus, which will require surgical repair in the coming days.

The playing group was informed of the injury this morning.

Hawthorn General Manager of Football Operations Max Bailey said Kemp had the full backing of the club.

“This is devastating news for all of us, but Ainslie has got the full support of everyone at Hawthorn as she navigates her recovery,” Bailey said.

“Ainslie’s always been a hard worker, and she’s in great hands with our medical and high-performance team, as she begins her rehab process.

“Ainslie is a highly respected and popular person at the club, and she’ll still play a big part in what we’re trying to achieve this season.”
