The brown and gold faithful have achieved a monumental feat in 2025, breaking Hawthorn’s all-time membership record whilst also smashing through the club’s home attendance record.

After officially setting a new membership record in May, the club is now celebrating its final tally for 2025 – a historic 87,204 members in its 100th year in the VFL/AFL.

To highlight the commitment of the Hawks faithful, the club saw incredible growth in new memberships in 2025.

The loyal Hawthorn family has not only committed to the club in record numbers, but also turned up in record numbers, with an extraordinary 456,305 packing the stands across home games at the MCG, UTAS Stadium and Marvel Stadium this year.

Additionally, a stellar average of 62,445 fans packed out the MCG alone to create a new attendance record for Hawthorn home games at the venue.

The brown and gold Tasmanian faithful also continued to showcase their passion, with 55,209 fans filling UTAS Stadium this year, which set Launceston’s largest combined attendance since 2019.

More broadly, the brown and gold momentum has been felt all around the country, with one-in-four members now coming from interstate.

Hawthorn CEO Ash Klein sincerely thanked all 87,204 members for their extraordinary support in 2025.

“Every single Hawthorn member should be incredibly proud of the role they have played in breaking the club’s all-time membership record for a second straight year,” Klein said.

“Along with a record 456,305 fans turning up to cheer the club on this year, the momentum of season 2025 has been felt from our home bases at the MCG and UTAS Stadium, right across to interstate venues like Adelaide Oval and Optus Stadium.

“With packed crowds in Tasmania alone, the brown and gold connection continues to strengthen in Launceston, and we thank all of our Tasmanian members for their immense support.

“Whether you’re based in Hawthorn heartland or are one of our 21,258 interstate members, your support has been felt in the stands and from afar throughout the entire year, and we are so grateful for the passion and generosity you continue to show.

“We thank every member and fan for playing their part in another extraordinary year, and we encourage you to keep supporting us as we embark on our second straight AFL Finals campaign and the remainder of our 2025 AFLW season.

“We look forward to continuing the momentum of our record-breaking membership and attendance tallies into 2026.”

2025 marks the second straight year Hawthorn has broken its all-time membership record, and with a huge AFL Finals campaign beginning on Saturday, as well as an undefeated start to the season by the AFLW Hawks, now is the perfect time to show your support ahead of 2026.
