Hawthorn has started the process of moving from Bunjil Bagora, Waverley Park to its new home in Dingley, the Kennedy Community Centre.
Here's all you need to know as the club settles into its new home:
When will the club finish moving into the Kennedy Community Centre?
The club is currently in the process of moving from Bunjil Bagora, Waverley Park to the Kennedy Community Centre. Given the significant scale of the move, this is expected to take several weeks. This includes moving both football departments, administration, the museum and Hawks Nest shop. We ask for patience during this time.
When will the Kennedy Community Centre be open to members/public?
The club is planning for an official opening next month, in addition to several opportunities for our members to visit the KCC. The club will communicate further details on specific dates as soon as it can.
Will there be a day where I can come tour?
Yes. The Kennedy Community Centre is a home for the entire Hawthorn family, for generations to come. Given the widespread excitement and interest to come tour the KCC, the club is working through the best way to ensure everyone’s experience is as safe and enjoyable as possible. The club will provide further information on this in due course.
What facilities are available to members/the public on site?
Once we are fully operational, members, fans and the wider public will be able to access a fully revamped Hawthorn Museum, featuring rare artefacts and unique pieces from the club’s rich and storied history, in addition to the Hawks Nest shop, which houses the latest range of HFC merchandise.
What are the opening and closing hours?
We will share our public hour opening hours once we are fully operational.
Can I get a coffee and watch training?
Yes, once we are fully operational, there will be opportunities to purchase coffee and other hot drinks from our barista on site and watch training. We will communicate when these opportunities are.
What major activities does the club have planned prior to Christmas?
Following the official opening in November, the club is planning to have several opportunities for our members, fans and the wider public to visit the KCC. We will be in touch with these dates once they are confirmed.
