Hawthorn now holds two first-round selections in this year’s National Draft after executing a pick swap with Carlton on the final day of the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.

The deal sees Hawthorn receive a pair of 2025 first-round selections (Pick 10 & Pick 22), in exchange for a 2025 first-round selection (Pick 9), and later selections (Pick 31, Pick 42 & Pick 43).

Hawthorn National Recruiting and List Manager Mark McKenzie said the pick exchange puts the club in a powerful position going forward.

“With two selections inside the first-round of this year’s draft, including a top 10 pick, we feel we have significantly strengthened our position as we near the end of the trade period,” McKenzie said.

“This gives us flexibility in the final stages of the trade period and as we lead into the upcoming draft.”
