Hawthorn has farewelled Seamus Mitchell after the defender was not offered a contract for 2026.

After being drafted with Pick 29 in the 2020 National Draft, the 23-year-old Robinvale product departs the Hawks after playing 28 games over five seasons.

Hawthorn National Recruiting and List Manager Mark McKenzie thanked Mitchell for his time in the brown and gold.

“It’s always a difficult time of the year and these decisions are never easy, but we’d like to acknowledge Seamus’ contribution to the club,” McKenzie said.

“He was a respected teammate who showed great resilience and commitment over his five seasons at Hawthorn.

“We wish him all the best for his next chapter.”
