Hawthorn forward Greta Bodey is set to play her 75th AFLW match on Friday night when the Hawks host North Melbourne in a top-four battle at Kinetic Stadium, Frankston.

Coming from a soccer background, the 30-year-old was drafted to Brisbane in 2019 and made her AFLW debut in Round 1, 2020.

After spending four seasons with the Lions, including winning a premiership in 2021 and being named an All Australian in 2022, Bodey made the move to the Hawks in 2023.

The Hawks goalkicker has now played 32 of a possible 34 games for the brown and gold, bringing up her 50-game and 50-goal milestones in the process.

Bodey was also named Hawthorn's Players' Player at last year's best and fairest, highlighting her team-first attitude.

She spoke to SEN's Run Home about how the club recognised her special milestone.

"It was really nice," Bodey said.

"They made a big deal of it today at Captain's Run.

"My Mum's down from Brisbane at the moment and she snuck into the team meeting and stitched me up in front of everyone by telling some childhood stories, which was great.

"She really loved it.

"She's a teacher, so she thrived in front of everyone.

"Then there was a nice little video from friends and family about the journey and everything like that, so it was really nice."
