Hawthorn has farewelled Sophie Butterworth on the final day of the 2025 AFLW Trade Period.

The deal also sees Hawthorn part with Pick 87 and receive Pick 67 and a future fourth-round pick (2026) in exchange for Butterworth, who departs the club for St Kilda.

The 19-year-old was drafted to Hawthorn at Pick 45 in the 2023 National Draft, going on to play six games across two seasons.

Hawthorn General Manager of AFLW Keegan Brooksby thanked Butterworth for her service to the club.

“We’d like to acknowledge Sophie for her contribution to the brown and gold and wish her well for the future,” Brooksby said.
