Hawthorn has farewelled inaugural AFLW captain, Tilly Lucas-Rodd, after reaching a deal with the GWS Giants on the final day of the 2025 AFLW Trade Period.

The deal sees Hawthorn receive a future second-round pick and a future third-round pick tied to the Giants as well as a future second-round pick tied to the Brisbane Lions in exchange for Lucas-Rodd and a future fourth-round pick.

The 29-year-old played 47 games for the Hawks across four seasons, in which time they were the inaugural best and fairest winner, and claimed their maiden All-Australian blazer in 2024.

Hawthorn General Manager of AFLW Keegan Brooksby acknowledged Lucas-Rodd’s contribution to the Club.

“Tilly will forever be remembered as Hawthorn's inaugural AFLW captain,” Brooksby said.

“They have been an extraordinary servant of the brown and gold across their four seasons, leading the side brilliantly as our very first skipper, before playing an important role in our leadership group more recently.

“We thank Tilly for their enormous contribution to our club, they will always remain an important part of the Hawthorn fabric, and we wish them the best for their next chapter."
