Rosie Dillon has been named as Box Hill Hawks VFLW Captain in the lead up to the 2026 season.

The former AFLW star has long been a celebrated VFLW Hawk, notably thanks to her role in Hawthorn's famous 2018 premiership.

A season later Dillion enjoyed a career-best year as Vice-Captain for the Hawks, claiming the club’s Best and Fairest and being named in the VFLW Team of the Year.

She was then drafted to St Kilda with pick 24 in the 2019 AFLW Draft, where her talent and leadership were on display across 31 games over three seasons (2020-2023). She was named the joint Best and Fairest winner in the Saints' inaugural season, and was part of the Emerging Leaders Group in 2022.

Dillon then returned to Box Hill in 2024 - her homecoming to the Hawks was a strong one, finishing the year as the Runner Up Best and Fairest and awarded the Best Player in Finals.

2025 saw her elevated to Vice-Captain, in a season where she played 15 of a possible 17 games, including all three finals.

Box Hill General Manager of Football Annelie Smith congratulated Dillon on her appointment.

“Rosie has long been a respected person within the four walls of Box Hill, known for her dedication and professionalism, which hold her in great stead as she leads our club,” Smith said.

“Her resume speaks for itself, with an extensive list of football accolades, and this is another well-deserved honour for her.

“Rosie is a trusted leader, and we look forward to seeing her spearhead our VFLW group in 2026.”

Box Hill’s VFLW season commences on Saturday May 16, with the Hawks to host Collingwood in Round 1.
